About LPD
LPD (London Production Division) consists of more than 12,000 staff, freelance and contract Bectu union members working in the media based in London and South East UK.
LPD members are organised into branches on a craft or workplace basis.
Representatives from branches meet together regularly at the LPD Committee.
Each year all LPD members are invited to the LPD Annual Members Forum.
The activities of LPD are covered by both the Bectu Rules and LPD Bye-laws.
LPD is one of seven Bectu Divisions – the others are:
- Arts & Entertainment Division – including theatre, live venues & art galleries
- BBC Division – BBC staff & contractors
- BT Division
- Digital Division
- Independent Broadcasting Division – including ITV and independent radio staff & contractors
- Regional Production Division – independent media in the Nations & Regions
